Snowflake Ice Cream Shoppe Closes for the Season

The ice cream spot is expected to re-open in February.

The Snowflake Ice Cream Shoppe of Riverhead has announced on its Facebook Page that as of this week it is closed for 2013 season.

The business said it is going to spend the winter cleaning, scrubbing, painting and mopping "then recharge our batteries."

The popular shop, located on Main Street, is expected to reopen at the end of February, depending on the weather.

Over 2013, the ice cream spot introduced a number of flavors, including Candy Cane, a Pepperminty flavor full of candy cane pieces; Torrone, an Italian honey flavored candy ice cream; Land of Mordor, Chocolate ice cream with brownie dough pieces and chocolate chips; Stawberry Cheesecake, cheesecake ice cream with cheesecake pieces and a strawberry weave; and so many more.
