Walter: Regal Deal No Longer a Reality
National cinema chain unable to come to terms with town, according to report on 'Riverhead News-Review.'
According to a report on the Riverhead News-Review, after years of attempts to get the national cinema chain to Main Street, Supervisor Sean Walter said on Wednesday night that he has been unable to reach terms with Regal Cinemas.
Reports have been circulating over a year that - and attempts date back to the mid-2000s - however the supervisor reportedly told a crowd at the Greater Calverton Civic Association meeting that the chain's offer was too low.
The report states that Walter will now seek an independent movie theater chain for Main Street.
