Riverhead Town businesses write in to tell us how they are doing after Hurricane Sandy.

Hurricane Sandy didn't keep these businesses down for long. If you don't want to drive around and waste gas, keeping checking this list about stores and businesses that are open around town. We're adding to them as we get emails.

  • The Neefus-Stype Agency, an insurance agency at 711 Union Ave., Aquebogue is open for business and can be a cell phone charging station. 
  • , on Pulaski Street in Riverhead. Marketing manager Gael Harden wrote: "Currently open for business. We are anxious to hear from all of our customers and know that you are okay. As long as we can safely get a truck out to a delivery address, we are delivering building materials and supplies all over Long Island. We have waived all delivery charges and minimum order amounts during November, while neighborhoods repair, replace and rebuild. All types of material are available for immediate delivery, including plywood, roofing, siding, tarps, etc. Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday: 6:30 a.m. till noon. In addition, anyone needing a licensed and insured local contractor or builder can contact our local trade organizations for a list of professionals in their area:  National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) – 631-673-6274 –www.nari-ny.org, Long Island Builders Institute – the local chapter of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) – 631-232-2345– www.libi.org.
