Would You Like To See A Zip Line By the River?

Plans are still moving forward for the zip line, despite community opposition.

Despite opposition from downtown Riverhead business owners, who spoke against a proposal for a new zip line attraction that would be located by the Peconic Riverfront, the plan is still moving forward.

John Finnegan of Urban Jungle Zip Lines said on Friday that he intends to continue with plans to site a zip line attraction downtown.

Those who railed against the ride said the zip line would pose security, safety, noise, aesthetic, and other concerns, and while many said while they thought the zip line was a good idea -- they felt the proposed location was the wrong spot.

What do you think? Would you like to see a zip line in downtown Riverhead as a fun attraction and economic generator? Do you think it would be better off elsewhere in town? Or do you think the zip line is a bad idea? Tell us in the comments section.
