10 Reasons Why Tim Tebow Should Fly To The Jets

It may be a good move for the New York Jets to try to give Tim Tebow a look - here's why.

Amid the game of musical chairs and quarterbacks that seems to have started to wind down with today's signing of future NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning with the Denver Broncos, it seems that the once-mercurial quarterback Tim Tebow suddenly doesn't appear to have a home as he'll take a back seat to #18 in Denver.

As I was thinking about this, it may be a good move for the New York Jets to try to give Tim Tebow a look, and here's why:

1) Keep Mark Sanchez Motivated -  Even though the franchise granted a "mea culpa" extension to their quarterback Mark Sanchez after being initially infatuated with the possibility of obtaining Peyton Manning, there's speculation that Mark Sanchez doesn't have a lot of competitive challenge to keep him on his toes.

The presence of a Tim Tebow lurking as a #2 would certainly do that.

2) Fitting In Tony Sparano's Offense – It's no surprise that new Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano likes a "ground and pound" running attack and does like the use of a "Wildcat" offense when he was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.

With the loss of Mr. Everything Brad Smith to Buffalo in free agency last year, if Tim Tebow considers expanding his role into a hybrid QB/H-Back, his size agility and running skills may fit this type of position.

3) Woody Johnson Loves The Back Pages – The current Jets owner Woody Johnson loves the back pages and making a splash, so someone like Tebow may just do that for him.

4) Rex Ryan Loves the Back Pages MORE, and Needs A Gamer – The Jets Head Coach seems to have lost his connection with his key personnel after the 2011 season, and a team-first guy like Tebow who would do anything to win seems to fit nicely within Rex's perception of team.

Rex would just need to ramp down on the "F-Bombs" and not plan on doing HBO's "Hard Knocks" again, given Tebow's religious beliefs.

5) The Super Bowl Champion New York Football Giants – It's a Giants town now – again. No need to explain this one.

6) Gotta Go To 'Bow's – Tebow's #15 jersey outsold all NFL players last year, so the Jets marketing department would probably agree here.

7) Make Sure That The Evil Rival Coach Bill Belicheck Doesn't Get Him – Early speculation does have Tebow possibly going to the New England Patriots, who can use him as a backup to another Hall of Fame quarterback in Tom Brady and could possibly extend his abilities to other positions besides QB.

8) Closer Proximity to Riverhead High School – The distance between Denver and Riverhead is 1,856 miles.

The distance between East Rutherford, NJ and Riverhead is 86 miles.

Those Riverhead High School kids love some Tebow-in', so it would be cool for him to pop by once in a while and give them some props for the national news they created last year for honoring him.

9) Hang Out With Joe Namath – If there's a Jet legend who can show Tebow the ropes of the New York media and entertainment spotlight, it's Joe Willie himself.

Just make sure he stays away from the wine and Suzy Kolber.

10) David Letterman – Tebow would be able to do more Top 10 Lists on Late Night With David Letterman.

From one quarterback's sweepstakes to another, let the games begin!
