Head out for a good time -- and help Riverhead's animals move to a new shelter.
The "Hogs and Hot Rods Rock the Shelter" fundraiser takes place on Sunday, April 7, to benefit the Riverhead Move the Animal Shelter organization.
The group, founded by Denise Lucas, has worked to raise funds for a new shelter. When the town's municipal shelter was privatized recently, and a new location suggested for Enterprise Park at Calverton, Councilman Jim Wooten said Lucas planned to continue fundraising to facilitate providing the best possible facility for the animals.
The event, a car and motorcycle show, will be held on the Peconic Riverfront from noon to 5 p.m. and will feature live music, vendors, and trophies. Live bands will be onstage from noon until 5 p.m. Featured performers include Gene Casey & the Lone Sharks, Miles to Dayton, and Who Are Those Guys?
Admission to the event is free. Car and motorcycle registration is $10; free T-shirts will be given out with registration from 11 a.m. unil noon.
Vendor space available $50 for a 10’ x 10’ space; no food or drink items.
To reserve a space, mail a $50 check before April 1 to: Riverhead MTAS Inc., P.O. Box 635, Riverhead, NY 11901 or click here.
