Get Out: Clean Comedy, Shadow Boxes and Tree Whispering

Start your weekend early with Original Voices at the Vail tonight.

Start the weekend early and listen to some great music tonight at the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall. Even though Winterfest 2011 has ended, Spring is in the air and there are many great ways to get out and enjoy the Riverhead area.

  • Where/When: Thursday night the doors open at 7:30 p.m. at the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall
  • Why go: After Burn will perform on the main stage and who know who else will show up to this open mic night.
  • Pricing: $5

  • Where/When: Friday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Northville Grange
  • Why go: It’s an interesting topic and the monies raised at this event go to restore an historic building.
  • Pricing: It’s free but donations will go to the “Save the Grange” fund.

  • Why go: Listen to music while you enjoy local wines, beer, and vodka.

  • Why go: You are never too old to learn how to make a new craft. This is a great way to preserve some special memories.
  • Pricing: Free

  • Where/When: Saturday at 7 p.m. at Vail-Leavitt Music Hall.
  • Why go: If you like Santana, this tribute band will certainly get you moving to some great tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
  • Pricing: $20 general admission/$25 VIP seats.

  • Where/When: Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Riverhead Library.
  • Why go: If you prefer your comedy to be funny without profanity, this afternoon show is for you.
  • Pricing: Free

  • Where/When: Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Martha Clara Vineyards  (weather permitting).
  • Why go:  If you ever wanted to watch an artist at work, spend some time watching Mark Ahren’s creative process.
  • Pricing:  Free
