Get Out: Opening Day, Oysters, and a Street Clean-Up

Help the Riverhead Fire Department remember its members in a moving memorial service and help clean up the streets of Riverhead.

Spring is in full swing in Riverhead. From a quaint spring tea to little league , there’s a variety of activities for the whole family.

  • Where/When: Friday at 1 p.m. at Hallockville.
  • Why go: How many opportunities do you have to wear a great hat and enjoy tea?
  • Pricing: $25.

  • Where/When:  Doors open at 6 p.m. on Friday evening at the Northville Grange.
  • Why go: If you’ve missed any of the lectures, here’s a great opportunity to meet the instructors and have your specific questions answered.
  • Pricing: Free, but donations will be accepted to help restore the Northville Grange.

  • Where/When: Meet at Riverhead Town Hall at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
  • Why go: Be part of the team that is helping to clean the litter off the streets of Riverhead.
  • Pricing: Free.

  • Where/When:  Saturday from  1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Lieb Cellars in Mattituck
  • Why go: Oysters and wine make a great combination.
  • Pricing: $10.

  • Where/When: Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Clovis Point in Jamesport.
  • Why go: Come out and support a local author.
  • Pricing: Free.

  • Where/When: Saturday at  1 p.m. at Stotzky Park.
  • Why go: This is a great family friendly event. Show the kids the true meaning of spring and baseball.
  • Pricing: Free admission.

  • Where/When:  Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kent Animal Shelter in Calverton.
  • Why go: Learn about the dangers of rabies from the professionals.
  • Pricing: The clinic is free, but Kent is accepting donations of canned cat and dog food.

  • Where/When:  Sunday at 4 p.m. at Fire Department Headquarters.
  • Why go: Help the department remember members who have passed on in this special ceremony.
  • Pricing: Free
