Get Out: This Weekend It's Time for Music, History, and Comedy

Riverhead history comes into focus with an event focused on the town's history and a concert featuring local music legends.

This weekend there’s a couple of fundraisers, karaoke, a comedy festival, music from local legends, and a great intergenerational program focused on the history of Riverhead.

  • Where/When: Friday night the doors open at 6:30 at the Grange in Northville
  • Why go: This program is part of the “Save the Grange” lecture series so the monies collected will go to save one of Riverhead Town’s historic gems.
  • Pricing: Donations are encouraged to restore the Grange.

  • Where/When: Friday night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Martha Clara Vineyards
  • Why go: There really is no better place to get your feet wet with karaoke then at Martha Clara Vineyards. If you want to just listen to your friends, grab a bottle of wine and sit back and relax.
  • Pricing: Free admission

  • Where/When: Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Riverhead Senior Center in Aquebogue
  • Why go: There’s no better way to learn about history. Listen to people who actual lived in town and saw history in the making. This is a great family event and a good way for seniors to make connections.
  • Pricing: $5

  • Where/When: Vail-Leavitt Music Hall at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening
  • Why go: It’s a great lineup of music featuring legends from the local music scene.
  • Pricing: $20 in advance/ $25 at the door

  • Where/When: Saturday night at 8 p.m. at Martha Clara Vineyards
  • Why go: There’s nothing like a good laugh! Get out of your house and listen to some of Long Island’s greatest comics.
  • Pricing: $20 in advance/$25 at the door.

  • Where/When: Sunday at 8 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church
  • Why go: The youth group is earning money for World Vision. Good kids. Great cause.
  • Pricing: Donations are excepted.

  • Where/When: Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Giorgio’s
  • Why go: If you know anyone who wants to get married locally, this is a can’t miss event. Local vendors will be available to answer all wedding-related questions.
  • Pricing: $20 cash.
