Get Out: Weekend Complete with Art, Love, and All that Jazz

From art to music, this weekend's events will showcase love in many forms.

Love is in the air this weekend before Valentine’s Day.  There are many activities around town to spend quality time with your loved ones. Here’s your field guide on what’s going on this weekend in and around Riverhead.

 

    • Where/When: Friday night the doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the Grange in Northville
    • Why go: Learn how to use organic products to make your flower spectacular this spring.
    • Pricing: It’s free, but all donations will go to a fund to repair the Grange building.
    • Where/When: Friday night at 7 p.m., at the Riverhead Library
    • Why go: Artist and photographers Mary VanDeusenhas taken many shots of wildlife and plants along the Peconic River. It’s a great place to see another take on a local treasure. The show will last throughout the month of February.
    • Pricing: Free
    • Where/When: Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the Hotel Indigo
    • Why go: Get into the spirit of Long Island Winterfest with a preview of Jazz on the Vine.
    • Pricing: Free
    • Where/When: Saturday at 11 a.m. the East End Arts Council
    • Why go: If you’re an artist and having trouble filling out those pesky tax forms, this is a must for you.
    • Pricing: $40 for members and $60 for non-members.

    • Where/When: Saturday and Sunday starting at 11 a.m. at Palmer Vineyards
    • Why go: Special reserve wines and chocolate truffles will be available. In addition, there will be live music.
    • Pricing: $12 per person
    • Where/When: Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Giorgio’s in Baiting Hollow
    • Why go: Get ready to dance the night away at this romantic dinner dance.
    • Pricing: $62.95 per person
    • Where/When: Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Pulaski Street School
    • Why go: It’s not summer and it’s not Monday night, but listening to uplifting sound of this local ensemble will chase the winter blues away.
    • Pricing: Free
