Have You Seen the Plows? Find Out if Your Neighbors Have

Huge snow totals have area roads in rough shape.

As locals attempt to dig out their own driveways after a blizzard dumped more than 26 inches of snow in some areas, many are scratching their heads about where the town plows are. However, Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean Walter and Police Chief David Hegermiller said the plows are out and residents should stay off the roads until emergency orders are lifted.

We posed a question on Facebook asking people if they had seen any plows. Below are some of their answers; be sure to let us know in the comments when your road is plowed.

10:30 pm Saturday night and still no plows on Dogwood Lane in Wading River. I know it was a lot of snow but this insane. In the past they would have made the third cut by now.

Approximately 11:00p Saturday night, on Canal Street in Center Moriches, a snow plow truck went half way down the street and left a huge pile of snow in the middle of the street only to block the road instead of clear it!! He then backed out to Montauk Hwy. and did not return.?!

Where are the Snow plows???? Wading River NE?? Nothing...not one came through here. This is insane. 30 " of snow,Riverhead should be ready for this and not have a problem. Are we back in the 1930's ?? If there is an emergency, we are screwed! Very disappointed. We are all WORKING families here that have to get out tomorrow morning safely. LOTS OF PLOWING, SANDING, SALTING..NEED TO BE DONE HERE!!!

No plows on Marge Lane in Calverton. The rest of the neighborhood is plowed but not ours. I don't get it!

By Sunday, the lack of plowing in Wading River is intolerable, dangerous, and a result of Riverhead Town officials' incompetence. Thanks to the Riverhead Patch for reporting the people's voice, unlike Riverhead Local, whose angry, insulting, unprofessional diatribe is an attack against the Riverhead Town reading audience. With Southold Town digging its residents out by Saturday, heavily taxed Riverhead Town residents by Sunday have a legitimate gripe. They need their local government to respond effectively, to plow *their* streets on a timely basis. Other towns have succeeded in doing so. Riverhead Town has failed miserably. And shame shame shame on Riverhead Local for not being the voice of the people. http://www.riverheadlocal.com/blogs/8503-enough-with-the-griping-already
