June 8: Air Quality Advisory, and Knitting

Stay cool today, with haze and a high of 92 degrees forecast.

1. The  is hosting its weekly at 1:30 this afternoon. The class is open to beginners or more advanced knitters, looking to share their latest projects or learn from one another.

2. The latest '' lecture continues tonight from 6:30-8:30. Jeff Frank, the organizer of the lecture series, will be recapping the past six months of lectures. Admission is free of charge, though suggested donations will be used to restore the Grange. To learn more about the lecture series, click .

4. The McGann-Mercy Monarchs' baseball season came to an end on Tuesday afternoon in Patchogue with a 9-2 loss to Tuckahoe. A story on yesterday's game will be posted shortly, so stay tuned. Congrats to the Monarchs, who will raise a banner on their wall as Long Island Class C Champions!

5.
