May 11: Story Time, Lecture Time, Presentation Time

For kids, gardeners or planners, there are events of a few different kinds going on around today.

1. At the Riverhead Free Library, children ages two-and-a-half to three years are welcome to participate in ',' which consists of part play and part storytime. This program, from 11:00 - noon, is free.

2. The Riverhead High School  will meet tonight from 5:30-9 to induct new members. The ceremony will feature a dinner with speakers and more and will be held at Atlantis Marine World

3. In the latest Save the Grange lecture, tonight's will focus on Herbology, Healing and Horticulture. The lecture starts at 6:30 and is free of charge, though donations will be accepted toward the restoration of the Sound Avenue building. Read to learn more about the Save the Grange series.

4. Video interviews with School Board candidates will continue over the next couple of days as we approach the election on May 17, next Tuesday. Still remaining are current board president Ann Cotten-DeGrasse and challenger Patricia Sapienza-Brown. 

5. Coming all the way down from Syracuse, students from the SUNY Center for Brownfield Studies will present to the town their and working together to, "indicate how the project can catalyze reconsidering the core of Riverhead's Town Center." The presentation will take place from 2-5 at Town Hall.
