Meet Paul Squire, New Editor of Riverhead Patch

An introduction from your new Local Editor.

Hello everyone.

My name is Paul Squire and I will be taking over as the new Local Editor for the Riverhead Patch. I am a recent graduate of Boston University, and have written for online magazines, college papers and the Boston Globe's website.

First, a little about me: I have a deep love for the arts, especially film. If you're ever looking for a good movie suggestion, I'm your man. I'm also a devoted pianist for over a dozen years. I like to spend my free time watching movies, reading up on the latest releases, playing piano and board games and following the latest hockey news since I am a rabid fan of the New York Islanders.

Though I wasn't raised in Riverhead, I'm excited to learn more about the town's history and the sights to see, as well as the major issues that matter to those who live here. I look forward to getting to know you, the community, and to start giving the residents of Riverhead more of the high-quality news it deserves. I've spent the past week driving around town and getting the lay of the land, from Baiting Hollow to Flanders and Calverton to Aquebogue, and I cannot wait to cover such a diverse community.

That said, part of my goal is to make Riverhead Patch even better than it already is. . I want to hear your opinion about what matters to you in Riverhead and how we can do a better job to cover it. What topics do you think are covered well, and which stories would you like to see more of?

I'm available almost anytime to talk or meet up, so feel free to contact me to chat about Riverhead, local happenings, hockey, movies, music or just about anything else. In the meantime, I'll be seeing you around town.

Check back later today for a note from the departing Local Editor, Joe Pinciaro.
