This long weekend is full of concerts, dedications to lost veterans, a festival downtown on Sunday, and most likely, many backyard BBQs. Give a look at our events page for more going on around town this weekend, as these are just a few events.

  • Where/when: Bistro 71 at Hotel Indigo; Friday, 8-11 p.m.
  • Why go: Start your long weekend off on a relaxing note by catching some smooth jazz tunes.

  • Where when: Calverton National Cemetery; Saturday, 9:30 a.m.
  • Why go: This is a wonderful opportunity to commemorate our veterans with Girl Scouts from across Suffolk County. 
  • Pricing: Free!

  • Where/when: Jamesport Meeting House; Saturday, 7 p.m.
  • Why go: This musical re-enactment will be an interesting and fun step back in time, held at the structure built circa 1731.
  • Pricing: $15, $10 for students

  • Where/when: Vail-Leavitt Music Hall; Saturday, 8 p.m.
  • Why go: Because you like Bad Company, and this is a Bad Company cover band.
  • Pricing: $10

  • Where/when: Downtown Riverhead; Sunday, noon-5 p.m.
  • Why go: The 15th annual street painting festival is a free, fun day-long event that brings people together in downtown Riverhead. 
  • Pricing: Free!

  • When/where: Parade starts at 10 a.m. Monday, corner of Pulaski Street and Osborn Avenue
  • Why go: To commemorate those who lost their lives fighting for our country.
  • Pricing: Free
