Police: Elderly Woman Stole Wallet Off Wal-Mart Floor

Police are seeking information on a grand larceny incident which occurred on May 31.

Riverhead and Suffolk County Police are seeking information on a woman wanted on grand larceny charges who they say stole a wallet off the floor of at the end of May.

According to police, a woman reported dropping her wallet near the entrance of the store on May 31. 

Surveillance cameras showed an elderly woman with short gray hair and medium to heavy build pick up the wallet and put it in her purse. The wallet and its contents were never returned to its owner.

Police said the woman who grabbed the wallet left the parking lot around noon in a blue or green Toyota Rav4, and was wearing a light purple shirt and white pants at the time of the incident. 

Anybody with information on this incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls are kept confidential, and any information leading to an arrest can offer a cash reward of up to $5,000.
