Question of the Day: What Makes a Great Graduation Gift?

With 'Pomp and Circumstance' playing nearly every weekend at one institution or another over the next month, now's a good time to brainstorm for gifts for grads before it's too late.

What do you think makes a great graduation present? It might be safe to say that every graduating student – or anybody, for that matter! – could use some cold hard cash. Do you go that route, or with something more personal? Where's a good place locally to find a unique gift for someone moving on to the next level?
