Jim Bisset, co-owner of the Long Island Aquarium and a major figure in the rebuilding of downtown Riverhead, was found dead in his car in Mattituck on Thursday. He was 43-years-old. His unexpected death led to for Bisset and his contributions to the community.

On Thursday, two Riverhead High School students were suspended after "Tebowing," a pose imitating Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, in the school's hallway. The story drew attention from across the country, including Tebow himself, putting the twin boys and the district in the media spotlight.

A 16-year-old Wading River girl was arrested on Thursday for her alleged involvement in the November armed robbery of a Shirley taxi driver. Tasheria Horsley was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, both felonies, and was released on her own recognizance with a future court date.

The Riverhead Neighborhood Preservation Coalition filed a lawsuit against the Town of Riverhead on Friday after the town Planning Board approved a development in Wading River. The group claims the town had no jurisdiction to approve the construction because the proposed shopping center doesn't follow existing zoning laws.
