Thanks for visiting Riverhead Patch, your local online news source dedicated to everything and anything happening in Riverhead. We're here to give you the news as quickly, accurately, and thought-provokingly as possible. Let me tell you a little bit more about Patch.
Patch is more than news. Sure, news is the driving force behind our content – it keeps the site fresh, and who doesn't want to know what's going on around them? But if you are looking for anything ranging from a decent Sushi place to the location of your kid's next soccer game to something to do this weekend, we'll have that plus other events you might stop at along the way.

Check out the directory listings section – we have more than phone numbers, addresses, and dead-end links in there. We have descriptions, written by people who walk the same streets you walk, and photos, so you know what you're getting into before you hit up Jimmy's Clam Shack and you realize it's not quite everything your "friend" told you it was. If you're a small business owner and you see your own business in there, you can claim it yourself and add some photos of your own, let people know when you're running special deals, and announce when you're looking for extra help.

Either myself or a freelancer who's joined the Patch team will be scouring the town daily covering sporting events, attending press conferences and school board meetings, visiting businesses, and speaking to you and getting your thoughts about what exactly makes local news.
