Contemporary Artists Consider the Permanent Collection
Join us in observing 11 artists' various interpretations of the Society's antique collection. The exhibit aims to juxtapose the mostly 19th century collection with contemporary artists' updated creations based on theme, form and/or materials of the older objects. Included in the show is Andy Warhol's "souper" dress which stands in stark contrast to the elaborate 19th century mourning dress painting that graces the Society's main hall. The exhibit runs through November 23, 2013
