Activities and Demonstrations Planned for New York State Sheriffs’ Week

The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office is the oldest law enforcement agency in Suffolk County.  This year, the Sheriffs are celebrating 330 years of continuing service.

Officers will be hosting guided tours of the facility, and various law enforcement and community relations programs will be highlighted throughout the day. There will be K-9 demonstrations, Emergency Response Team demonstrations, historic artifacts, equipment and field operations demonstrations, as well as opportunities to learn about programs such as Project Lifesaver, Test Don’t Guess and obtain Child and Senior ID Cards. McGruff the Crime Dog will be onsite, and children will have an opportunity to participate in the Sheriff’s Bike Rodeo and ride an obstacle course.
