Suffolk County Historical Society Honors Veterans Day with the Art of William Stranders



         To commemorate Veterans Day, two mural-size World War II oil paintings are on display at the Suffolk County Historical
Society. The paintings, created by artist William Stranders, were donated to
SCHS by the American Legion Post #273 in Riverhead, NY and will remain on view
throughout the month of November. The Society invites the community to view the paintings and to attend a bagel breakfast at 9:00 AM before the Veterans Day 11:00 AM ceremony at the War Memorial on the Society’s grounds on Monday, November 11, 2013.
