Riverhead Town is hosting its Stop Throwing Out Pollutants (S.T.O.P.) day at the Riverhead Town Highway Department on Osborne Avenue.
Residents are encouraged to bring: adhesives, alcohols, anti-freeze, aerosols, paint, solvents, degreasers, herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, insecticides, photo chemicals, waxes, polishes, stains, varnishes, turpentine, oven cleaners, mothballs, oil base and lead base paints, all types of cleaners, used motor oil, old gas, batteries, transmission fluid, starter fluid, brake fluid, pool chemicals, lighter fluid, kerosene, fluorescent bulbs, computers and other electronic equipment in sealed, clearly labeled containers.
Please refrain from bringing explosives, medical waste, industrial or commercial waste.
