Suggestions on the best places around town to buy wine for the holidays.

The holiday season is now upon us. Looking to buy a rosé, riesling or pinot noir for your holiday dinner? Here are ten places to check out.

 This wine superstore, located at the Tanger Outlet Center, offers wines from across New York State. A good store whether you don't know exactly what you're looking for or if you have a taste for a obscure upstate winery.

Owned by the Entemann family, Martha Clara Vineyards have been producing award-winning wine since 1995. This past year, Martha Clara's for top wine in New York.

 Founded by Bob Palmer in 1983, Palmer Vineyards in Riverhead is one of the oldest vineyards on the North Fork. The winery makes a variety of wines such as pinot blanc and gewurztraminer.

The Aquebogue-based vineyard specializes in use of more unusual oak barrels when fermenting wine, including Hungarian oak, Russian oak, and Canadian oak. The winery also on Route 25 for those looking to grab a bite with their wine.

For a truly unique spin on wine, try the Roanoke Vineyards on Sound Avenue, a winery devoted to experimenting with different methods to create select, interesting wines.

 Founded in 1983, this Aquebogue vineyard is the only winery in New York State to grow chenin blanc, a highly acidic grape from the Loire valley of France.

If you're looking for a more laid-back experience when buying your holiday wine, swing by the Diliberto Vineyard and Winery. With a tasting room decorated to resemble a Tuscan village, the vineyard serves wines unique to the area, such as Cantina. 

 Producing two lines of wines — the flagship Estate Series and the popular East End series — the laid-back vineyard is known for its Mélange de Trois, a rich red blend, and its award-winning cabernet franc.

Wine with a Greek flair. Winemaker Jason Damianos, a member of the family who owns the Pindar Vineyards in Peconic, specializes in a Meritage, a rich red blend of merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon aged in French oak.

Merlot, cabernet franc and chardonnay grapes grow on 20 scenic acres at this Jamesport vineyard.
