Have you heard the buzz? A new indoor farmers market is making its way to downtown Riverhead! Sponsored by the Riverhead Business Improvement District, the market will be opened for 16 consecutive Saturdays starting February 1st.
A number of local participants have already signed on, and the farmers market will be yet another wonderful addition to our ever changing and growing downtown.
I'm so happy as the publisher of Riverhead Macaroni Kid to be sponsoring the Indoor Farmers Market Kids Club! The Kids Club will meet biweekly starting February 1st. Activities will be ongoing during regular market hours from 11 AM to 3 PM. My hope is to encourage families downtown to visit the market; The entire family!
We are hoping to incorporate fun activities, projects, crafts, stories and more to teach children where their food comes from and reinforce healthy habits.
