Opportunity to "get your feet wet" for charity!

The premise of the event is to have competing charities go against each other in various water-related activities.

Join BluChip Marketing in the ultimate Battle of the Causes. Five charities will go head-to-head during a day full of fun summer activities like water balloon fights, water gun fights, and obstacle courses to win some fantastic prizes and a check for a charity of their choice!

The event benefits a wide range of charities; participants will have the option to join a charity’s team. The charities that will be included are Angela’s House, American Heart Association, Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, Moms Who Kick, PKD Foundation, and Brielle’s Fashions.

The idea for water balloons came from BluChip Marketing’s Founder and CEO, Karin Caro who surprised her kids at the end of the school year with a water balloon fight at their bus stop. Caro, who started the company with the premise to give back to the community, holds a belief that giving and helping should be fun. Caro expressed, “I wanted to do this so LI Charities can come together and share resources, help each other in a fun, family way. “

Rather than a free-for-all, participants have six teams to choose from, with each hosted by a representative from the charity.

Joanne Hutchins, Founder of Moms Who Kick Inc. states the reason to take part of the event is because "the mission of Moms Who Kick is to promote fitness and nutrition in order to lead a healthy lifestyle.  What better way to get people active than to participate in the Battle of the Causes?  This event will bring together some wonderful charities, help raise awareness, have some fun and a little competition never hurts either!"

The sentiment was continued, with Bob Policastro, Founder and Executive Director of Angela’s house, "I view this event with a different twist, we are all causes and every day we battle to find cures, help people and do good for our community but this can only come true if we create the awareness of our non-profits.  This event allows us to join together in fun to battle and ultimately help our community.”

This year’s event will make its debut in Riverhead, at the Hilton Garden Inn on August 26th. It will kick off at 2:00 pm with a BBQ at 4:00 pm. The event is open to the public, regardless if they decide to take part in activities. All tickets will be $10 per person. A rain date is scheduled for September 8th. WALK 97.5 FM will be hosting the day, as well as providing music

BluChip Marketing is still looking for vendors and sponsorships for the event. To vend, the price will be $50 and will be included in all marketing material, please contact the office at 631-337-1603 for more information.
