The Bee hive downtown & PeeWees in Polishtown in the 50's. Also the 2 movie theaters on Main St. Garden rest. on W Main. Shoe repair on Griffing Ave. Most of all I don't recall the name but the store that displayed all their vegetables on the sidewalk near Tweed's if my memory is correct MAIN STREET WAS THE PLACE TO SHOP YEARS AGO. Many ladies shops, Diana, Paula Tara,Leroys,Lentins, etc. AND OF COURSE MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SWEEZY'S !! Can't forget Kid Stuff & Bakers children & the old old Rose shop.

NOBODY REMEMBERS DOC'S TAVERN IN POLISH TOWN? They had the best pizza in town--I remember my Parents taking me + my big brother during the Summer in the 50s. I took my Girlfriend in the 60s,my Wife[same girl] in the 70s. The tradition continued with my Sons in the 80s. I regret not being able to take my Grandchildren in the future. Those days are gone, but the memories remain!

I remember all of them, We would come by boat from Flanders and Mom & Pop would either shop in A&P, Bohacks or Hills and then while all the grocerys sat in the hot sun for hours while they had a few cold ones in Sullivans. It's a wonder we never got food posining. Bill
