Has the Recent Rash of Riverhead Crimes Frightened You?

Another armed robbery took place in a Riverhead apartment over the weekend during a home invasion, marking the latest in a string of crimes that have taken place in town.

First, a series of armed robberies took place in stores around Riverhead, including Barth's on East Main Street. Next, a woman was a couple was held up at knifepoint after leaving the aquarium, and a woman was carjacked on Sound Avenue last week.

In response, Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean Walter has vowed to tackle the problem and amp up police protection downtown, doubling patrols.
