One of modalities requested most often is ear candling. It is a gentle, non-invasive, yet highly effective modality to use for some of the following issues:
• Allergy symptoms
• Muffled hearing
• Build up of wax/debris and/or fluid in the ears and/or sinus
• Tinnitus, Vertigo, Balance, (when not stemming from cardiac or neurological issues)
This gentle, non-invasive therapy has been documented dating back to 2500 B.C. The ancient cultures of the Mayan, Aztec, Tibetan, Chinese and Native American.
Candles/cones are made of unbleached cotton or linen dipped in paraffin or beeswax which is infused with herbs, and flower essences. Candles are also prepared with using only the beeswax or paraffin for those with sensitivities.
The spiral roll built into the candle creates a gentle downward flow of warm air and smoke. This carries the warm air/smoke into the ear canal. The heat softens wax and debris. The gentle candle placement creates a counter-clockwise "vacuum" action which evaporates excess fluid and gentle brings up the softened wax/debris out of the ear canal. (from areas that traditional physicians cannot access with their instruments). A gentle massage of the facial and cranial sinus points is part of the candling session, which aids in the release of debris and fluid.
The majority of individuals experience immediate positive results and relaxation from an ear candling session.
