2 Drivers Arrested for DWI in Riverside

The two arrests came early Sunday morning in separate incidents.

Men from Riverhead and Flanders were arrested and charged with drunk driving in separate incidents in the Riverside area early Sunday morning, police said. 

Gregorio Vasquez, 50, of Flanders was the first to be arrested at 2:51 a.m., when he was stopped by town police on Flanders Road, according to a police report. Police said Vasquez was driving on the shoulder of the road and was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI. 

Rewie Kamita, 21, of Riverhead, was arrested at the traffic circle in Riverside at 3:28 a.m. and charged with DWI. Police stopped Kamita after he was allegedly seen driving over the curb at the traffic circle.

Both men were held for arraignment overnight.
