UPDATE: 2 Hospitalized for Minor Injuries After SUV Flips in Riverside

Southampton Police warns drivers about slick roadways Thursday night.

Two individuals were hospitalized for minor injuries after an SUV flipped over on County Road 94/State Road 24 in Riverside shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday night.

The one-car accident occurred nearly a mile west of the Suffolk County Jail, and County Sheriffs were called to assist on scene.

According to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office, a man and woman were both transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Flanders-Northampton Volunteer Ambulance. The man had minor bleeding and possible a concussion, and the woman was bleeding from her leg, according to the sheriff's office.

Southampton Police sent out a warning to drivers Thursday night informing drivers that "multiple accidents have also been reported - predominately in the western portion of the township. We ask that people should not use the roadways unless absolutely necessary."
