2 Injured, 2 Arrested in July 4 Stabbing

Shinnequa Dean and Tanisha Whitley were arrested and charged with 2nd degree assault in connection with a reported brawl in Riverhead that left two women with multiple cuts.

Two women were injured and two others arrested after a fight lead to an alleged stabbing on Monday evening. Riverhead Police responded to a 911 call about an altercation on North Oakland Drive in Riverhead at approximately 9:30 p.m, according to a statement from police. Upon arriving, police found two women bleeding from multiple lacerations at the scene.

The victims, reported as Kiesha Moore, 28 of Riverhead, and Shermaine Roberson, 39 of Shirley, were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center and treated for their wounds. More information about their condition was not made available.

Shinnequa Dean, 29 of Mastic, and Tanisha Whitley, 27 of Riverhead, were later arrested by police after they were found at the same hospital seeking treatment for their own similar injuries. After their release from the hospital, both women were charged with second degree assault in connection with the suspected stabbing.
