6 Busted in East End DWI Task Force Sweep

East End DWI Task force efforts will continue throughout the year, police said.

Six were arrested after a sting by Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota's  East End DWI Task Force in Riverhead Saturday night.

According to Riverhead Town police, the task force arrested Tranqulino Chamale, 35, of Aquebogue, Nelson Avelar, 33, of Riverhead, Rogelio Boch, 27, of Riverhead, Shamir Euceda, 23, of Hampton Bays, Otto Roc-Subuyuju, 29, of Water Mill, and Richard Kruedelbach, 53, of Southampton.

Five were charged with driving while intoxicated, one was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, and two vehicles were seized.

Chamale, Boch, Rac-Subuyuj, and Kruedelbach was charged with misdemeanor DWI.

Euceda was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs,  a felony, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Avelar was charged with DWI, driving without an interlock device, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, a felony.

The task force included officers from Riverhead, Westhampton Beach, and Quogue Village police departments. Additional enforcement details will continue on the East End this year.
