UPDATE: Calverton Man Dies After North Haven Crash
Charles F. Edwards died at Southampton Hospital.
Update, 6:30 p.m.: Southampton Town Police Detective Sgt. Lisa Costa identified the driver of a Helen’s Greenhouses and Flower Farm, of Aquebogue, delivery truck that crashed on North Haven and died as Charles F. Edwards, 56, of Calverton.
Edwards lost his leg in the crash. "The point of impact was on the driver's side," Costa said, adding that his leg was severed.
Southampton Hospital emergency room doctors pronounced him dead at 2:26 p.m., about two hours after the accident occurred, Costa said.

Police will await the medical examiner's report to determine what caused Edwards to veer across Route 114 and into a tree on the corner of Fahys Road.
Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor, Costa said, adding that he may have had a pre-existing medical condition that contributed to the accident.

Update 4:30 p.m.: A man whose delivery truck crashed into a tree on North Haven earlier Thursday afternoon has died, according to Southampton Town Police Detective Timothy Wilson. His family has been notified. Police will release more information shortly.
Previously: An Aquebogue delivery truck driver was transported by to Thursday afternoon with serious injuries after he drove into a tree on North Haven, according to .
The driver was the sole occupant of the Helen’s Greenhouses and Flower Farm delivery truck from Aquebogue. Southampton Town Police Det. Timothy Wilson said the driver was headed southbound on Route 114 when he crossed the double yellow line and struck the tree head on. The driver's side of the truck took the brunt of the damage.
A medevac helicopter had been called in to airlift the victim, but could not land because of weather, police said.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Route 114 and Fayhs Road. The site is just north of the Haerter Bridge, which has been shut down. Route 114 south of the North Haven traffic circle has also been closed as police perform accident reconstruction.
Motorists and pedestrians hoping to get between North Haven and Sag Harbor will have to take Noyac-Long Beach Road instead.
