UPDATED: Capital One Bank on Route 58 Robbed

Police have released a description of the robbery suspect.

The Capital One bank on County Road 58 was robbed Friday morning just before noon, according to Riverhead Town police.  

Police said the suspect, described as a white or Hispanic man wearing a light-colored fedora, a white-collared shirt, white shorts and white sneakers, approached the teller and handed over a note demanding cash. After taking an undetermined amount of money, the robber fled, according to the report.

Town Supervisor Sean Walter said the robber was likely unarmed.

An associate manager at the Capital One bank declined to comment on the robbery.
