The crash happened just a few yards away from where a Greenport man was killed after being hit by a Suffolk County Transit Bus while driving on Lake Avenue on Feb. 2, 2010, according to a report from Suffolk Times.

Michael Brown, 21, who had stopped at a stop sign along Lake Avenue, had pulled into the intersection when he was struck and killed by the oncoming bus. There were no serious injuries to the bus driver or any of his 14 passengers, according to the report. No charges were filed against the driver.

A traffic light was installed at the intersection after the fatal accident, Sgt. Ralph said.
