Cops: Riverhead Man Charged With Driving Under Influence Of Marijuana

In other arrests, patio furniture reported stolen.

Southampton Town Police report that on Tuesday at approximately 11 p.m. on County Road 94 in Riverside, Riverhead resident Dawid Kalicki, 21, was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor.

Kalicki was stopped for traffic infractions; police alleged that further investigation revealed he was operating his vehicle while under the influence of marijuana.

He was arrested at the scene, transported to Southampton Town police headquarters, and held for morning arraignment.

In other Southampton Town police news, detectives arrested Shareem K. Giles, 41, of Riverhead on Aug. 16 at approximately 2:07 p.m. for allegedly stealing someone's patio furniture from the backyard of a residence located on Priscilla Avenue in Flanders; police charged him with petit larceny.

The patio furniture was valued at $225. The incident allegedly took place on Aug. 11. Giles was released on an appearance ticket and is expected back in Southampton Town justic court on Sept. 12.
