Cops: 2 Stabbed During Brawl At Packed Riverhead House Party

Over 500 were estimated to be in attendance, police said.

Two were stabbed at a crowded party of over 500 that led to violence on Oakland Drive South Saturday night, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, a call came in at 10:51 about loud music coming from the party.

When police arrived on the scene, they found a large crowd of an estimated 500 or more individuals, with hundreds of cars parked on and along the roadway, authorities said.

The homeowners were asked to lower the music; they told police the party was almost over.

A short time later, an argument escalated and a fight broke out amongst party goers, police said; two men were stabbed.

The victims left the scene and headed to Peconic Bay Medical Center on their own, police said.

Rashawn Lamb, 28, of Flanders, was transferred to Stony Brook Hospital with numerous stab wounds on his back; Tashawn Brown, 22, of Riverhead, was treated at PBMC for lacerations to his left hand. Both victims said they did not know who stabbed them.

Additional police department were requested to respond for assistance, including New York State Police, Southold Town police, and Suffolk County police, including a helicopter from the aviation unit and emergency services, who responded and helped  with dispersing the crowd.

The investigation is ongoing. Riverhead police have asked that anyone with information call 631-727-4500.
