Cops: 3 Women Arrested In New Brothel Bust

Flanders arrests came after a months' long investigation, police say.

Only days after a high profile bust of an alleged house of prostitution in Riverhead, police arrested three Flanders women on Saturday on charges of prostitution.

Members of the New York State Police Special Investigations Unit, State Police Troop L Riverside, and the Department of Homeland Security, with assistance from the Southampton Police Department, arrested three women in an alleged prostitution operation located at 424 Flanders Road in Flanders.

Mariluz Fonseca, 62 of 424 Flanders Road in Flanders was charged with promoting prostitution in the third degree, a class "D" felony. Milady Leclerc-Roman, 59, of the Bronx, was charged with prostitution, a B misdemeanor. Belkis Serrano-Tejeda, 40 ,of 424 Flanders Road was also charged with prostitution.

The investigation into the brothel began a couple months ago after information was received by law enforcement of the activities occurring at the residence, police say. Following their arrest, the three women were processed at the state police facility in Riverside and held in the Suffolk County Sheriff's Detention Facility pending arraignment on Saturday.

The arrests followed the bust of a Riverhead brothel last week, which left some neighbors shocked. Recently, the Flanders, Riverside and Northampton Civic Association raised concerns about escalating drug crime and prostitution in their communities and demanded answers from Southampton Town Police.

But the community is so vibrant and diverse! We should be glad of all this diversity, right? And such beauties they are too! And how about those property values? Going up yet????

Welcome to America! Doing the jobs that we don't want to do!

Where is my comment Patch? You removed it but 27 East left it up. Why are you censoring us?

There's not enough Viagra in the world...

Patch welcomes all dialogue and discussion but asks that comments be kept civil. Thank you so much.

I was on line at Walmart about 1 year ago and the first woman in the photos was purchasing an embarrassing amount of Trojan condoms. I was disgusted at the brazenness of it all.

Instead of practing touch and goes, the C130's should be loaded with illegals and flying everyone back to their own country! Seriously, we wil put them in jail, feed them and give them a nice place to sleep...that's america for you (it does not deserve a capital letter anymore).

Chris, thanks for your feedback. We'd gladly run any opinion you have on our reporting as a letter to the editor on this site. However, Lisa is a excellent reporter who has been fair and objective in all of her reporting on this emotionally charged topic. Thanks for reading. Henry Powderly Regional Editor

Wow... reading these comments makes me uncomfortably and disgustingly aware of the feelings of the "us against them" complex that seems to permeate a fair bunch of the local population. Last time I checked, we were all decended from "illegal" stock. That being said, here's another thought to consider: how many members of our own family tress whored themselves out? Physically, financially, or in any other form? I mean, jesus friggin' christ... how lofty and entitled do all of you soound when I'm sure your puritan backrounds may hold a scandal or two themselves... Insane.

Chris - While the article does mention Homeland Security as a participant, there is no mention of immigration status or even if there is a hold on them from ICE. I have not seen any indication in any other publication that states any of these people are here illegally so how is it that you jump from the matter at hand to sweeping charges regarding immigration, is it simply the Hispanic names?
Ralebird September 24, 2012 at 08:38 PM
I get your points, not that I agree with all of them, but I know that the hispanic population in the US is over fifty million and more than three quarters are here legally. The broad-brush approach to suspect anyone with an hispanic name of being undocumented is wrong four times out of five.
Boo September 24, 2012 at 10:42 PM
To Chris M. Did you ever hear of Ellis Island? Don't know where you get your info but the immigrants of old came here legally. If they were sick or "unskilled" they were sent back. If you believe differently then prove it. I am sick of bleeding heart libs putting forward that tired incorrect clap trap. Guess you don't pay taxes or are in any way affected by this tsunami of illegals taking over our town. You will be sorry some day soon.
Boo September 24, 2012 at 10:45 PM
To Lisa Finn. My comment you removed was civil. There are Hispanic Cowboys on bicycles with hats and boots too. This is a gold rush town. And those mugshots are not Miss Kitty. You need to be impartial and you are not. Some journalist you are.

And people please learn how to spell descended!

That comment was made by Anne Marie. I was quoting her.
Anne Marie September 25, 2012 at 01:24 AM
Apologies... Yep, Ive heard of ellis island, my mother came through there after my grandparents were liberated out of a concentration camp. As far as being "bleeding heart liberal" don't you even dare judge me, honey.. you have no right. I certainly do pay my taxes and I'm already sorry for the fact that there are people like you who judge so voraciously with complete disregard for someone just becaue they're of a different situation that you don't agree with. Since when is it ok to instantly judge someone or have a biased opinion for someone based upon a ocietal problem? Oh yeah... it's not. And as for my spelling.. again, apologies. My finger slipped.
Boo September 25, 2012 at 09:48 AM
A societal problem? That makes everything okay and the fall out go away? I guess we are just supposed to smile while we watch America descend into the third world toilet. You can have the honor of flushing it.
Algebra September 26, 2012 at 05:34 AM
Once again, this occurred in Riverside, not Flanders
Anne Marie September 26, 2012 at 02:25 PM
If you read my post in the matter that it was intended (without tonal qualities), you wouldn't assume your second to last sentance. In no way did I state that it was "okay", nor anything about the "fallout", and who said "we're supposed to smile while..." You did. I was responding to the ill-concealed feelings of disgust concerning a nationality people as a whole. It's just disturbing to me that we as a people of supposed diverse cultures and peoples, can be so intolerable and biased when dealing with an issue of immigration, illegals, legals, food stamps, automatic citizenship and the like. I won't deny that there is a massive scaled problem with the inner workings of the governmental machine, but that's where the fault lies... not with the people who come over here to better themselves and their families. When they send money back, (i'm gonna go out on a limb here) they're sending it to those who need it. That's called being human.. and the legal ones do the same. So that's my outrage.. the distinct callousness that people have for people regarding their supposed legal status, what they supposedly do here, where the money goes, all based on a last name that's different from yours. It's a pre-conceived mindset... and Hitler had it too.

Where is patch to censor the profane racist tirade. You took off my tame comment but leave this up? I can't say cycling hispanic cowboys but "marta" can spew profane racist rants? Guess I am on the wrong side of the issue.
Lisa Finn (Editor) September 27, 2012 at 12:43 PM
Marta, Thank you for your comments, but Patch will remove any comments that contain profanity.
marta September 27, 2012 at 05:55 PM
im sorry for my profanity its just im so upset what people saying it really hurt she my mom that my family please have a little respect thank you.
Marisol September 30, 2012 at 06:01 AM
People need to stop judging and making such harsh comments for the fact grandchildren & children of these families are going through enough have some respect and enough with the bashing of people. I know the family of Mariluz Fonseca and she would give the shirt off her back for anyone & always helping people. I am sure alot of you all when drunk have had people purchase drinks for you at a bar then go home with the person, & have sexual relations with someone well then thats a form of services too then because drinks were given to you in exchange basically...
Chuck Wagon September 30, 2012 at 09:39 PM
