Cops: 'Faulty Fan' Filled Auto Mall With Smoke

All was in order by the time the fire department arrived on the scene, police said.

Firemen rushed to the Eagle Auto Mall on Route 58 in Riverhead Tuesday after an automatic fire alarm was triggered by smoke billowing from a faulty fan.

According to Riverhead Town police, the alarm went off at 11:28 a.m. The Riverhead Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene and checked the scene; all was in order, with no active fire, police said.
