Cops: Gunpoint Robbery in Calverton; Suspect Still At Large

Do the gunpoint robberies reported in Riverhead make you fearful?

Another gunpoint robbery in Riverhead Town unfolded Wednesday night in Calverton, police said.

Suffolk County police said a man armed with a gun entered the Hess gas station, located at 1 Edwards Avenue in Calverton, at 8 p.m., demanding cash.

The attendant complied, and police said the suspect fled on foot. No injuries or arrests have been reported. The investigation is ongoing.

Over the past year, a number of gunpoint robberies have been reported around Riverhead, with some suspects apprehended. Last month, the Hess station near Tanger was held up at gunpoint.
