Cops: Hy Ting Had Loose Liquor Records, Including Expired License

West Main Street restaurant cited for expired license, extension of premise, and failing to produce business records.

According to police, Hy Ting Restaurant on West Main Street was cited on Thursday afternoon for having an expired liquor license.

Police said that on Thursday afternoon, they received a complaint  stating that the establishment may have been selling liquor to underage patrons. Upon an investigation, no underage drinking was observed, though it was revealed that the liquor license for the establishment had expired on April 30.

The restaurant was also cited for an extension of premise and failing to produce business records.

According to Officer Jill Kuvetz of the Riverhead Police Department, a patron of Hy Ting was observed in the rear parking lot of the restaurant drinking alcohol, resulting in the extension of premise violation. She added that the restaurant was unable to produce adequate records of its alcohol purchases.

All violations were referred to the State Liquor Authority.
