The man was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, police said.

A Rocky Point man was arrested Saturday after police said he was driving drunk — and heading into oncoming traffic.

Southampton Town police said the incident occurred at 1:05 a.m. Paul A. Becker, 49, was observed driving on Flanders Road and Old Quogue Road in Riverside while failing to maintain his lane and crossing into oncoming traffic.

Police said Becker was stopped by police on Flanders Road and found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, then transported to headquarters for processing and arraignment.
