Cops: Man Kicked In Door, Stole Contents of Purse, Fled and Crashed

Police said the man was drunk.

A South Jamesport a man was arrested Thursday after police said he kicked in a door, stole a woman's bag, then fled the scene and crashed his van while drunk.

According to Riverhead police, Aaron Hallock, 37, was arrested at 1:21 p.m. after officers responded to a call about a door being kicked in at a South Jamesport home.

Police said Hallock removed the contents of a pocketbook before fleeing in a white van, then struck a utility pole. He ran from the scene, leading officers on a foot pursuit. 

Hallock was placed under arrest and charged with burglary in the second degree, a felony, driving while intoxicated, a felony, and leaving the scene of an accident.
