Cops Nab 2 For Allegedly Stealing Candy Bars

In other Southampton Town arrests, police charge one with DWI.

Two East Quogue residents were arrested on Tuesday after they were allegedly caught stealing over 30 candy bars in Riverside.

Southampton Town olice say Jason M. Ploikoff, 29 and Samantha C. Van Nostrand, 21, both of East Quogue, were arrested in Quogue Village on Tuesday at approximately 10:10 p.m. after Polikoff was observed by the store clerk allegedly stealing candy bars at the Shell Gas Station located on the Riverside traffic circle.

Police say Polikoff allegedly stuffed his pockets with over 30 candy bars.

The pair allegedly fled the area in a vehicle and were subsequently located and apprehended.

Both subjects will face charges of petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Van Nostrand was charged as an accessory as she allegedly attempted to distract the store clerk while police say Polikoff filled his pockets.

They were both processed and released on $150 police bail.

Outstanding Bench Warrant

Southampton Town Police also arrested Reyes I. Perez, 31, of Hampton Bays on Tuesday on charges of an outstanding bench warrant for failure to appear. He was held overnight for morning arraignment.
