Cops: Pizza Delivery Man Stiffed On Dough

Incidents reported to Southampton Police during the week through Jan. 29.

A pizza delivery driver brought food to home in Flanders but was not paid, Southampton Town police said. According to Southampton Town police, a complainant reported that his delivery driver was not paid for a delivery of pizza, soda, bread, and barbecue wings, which totaled $46.36. The complainant said an unknown caller ordered items the items did not pay upon delivery and added that the caller gave a fictitious name and improper address, in order to obtain the items. Upon delivery, police said the subject was allegedly standing outside a residence, received the items, and ran off into the woods with the food. Police checked into the surrounding area without finding the caller; police said the caller did not live at the location he gave. The case is pending; no further details are immediately available.

Leaving the Scene of An Accident

A Ridge woman reported that on 8:11 p.m. in Riverside, an unknown driver operating a 1996 Ford Mustang with Virginia plates hit her car and drove away prior to the arrival of police. Her car, police said, was located on a private road and unattended. The car was impounded and brought to Southampton Town police headquarters for further investigation. Later, police said, on Jan. 23, the driver was located and issued a summons in Flanders.
