Cops: Riverhead Man Fought With Police, Had Marijuana

Defendant became "combative," police say.

Riverhead resident Curtis L. Trent, 22, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and resisting arrest on Oct. 17 at 8:53 p.m. after Southold Town Police stopped him for traffic violations at the intersection of Eugenes Road and Beebe Drive in Cutchogue, police said.

Trent became combative, fighting with the officers at the scene until he was subdued and placed under arrest, police said. Further investigation revealed that Trent was in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and transported to Southold Town Police headquarters in Peconic for processing and held for arraignment.
