Cops: Riverhead Man Found With Narcotics, Drug Paraphernalia

Police said the defendant was initially charged with an outstanding warrant.

A Riverhead man has been charged with criminal possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia after his arrest at the Holiday Inn Express on Route 58 on Wednesday.

According to Riverhead police, Denzel T. Faines, 21, of Riverhead, was arrested on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express and charged with an outstanding Suffolk County Police bench warrant.

Upon arrest, police said Faines was found to be in possession of quantities of narcotics and drug paraphernalia and was additionally charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia in the second degree.

Faines was transported to police headquarters, processed, and held for arraignment, police said.
