Cops: Riverhead Man Nabbed After Gunpoint Hold-Up

Additional arrests are expected, police said.

A Riverhead man was arrested on Wednesday and charged with holding up a victim at gunpoint, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, Julian R. Williams, 18, was arrested at 4:10 p.m. after police said they received a report of a robbery that had taken place on Wednesday near Delores Avenue in Riverhead.

A male victim told police that he had been held up at gunpoint by two black men and one black woman.

Police broadcast a description of the suspects to patrol units; several Riverhead police units, as well as New York State Police, conducted a search of the area for the suspects.

A short time later, the suspect was located, placed under arrested, and charged with robbery in the first degree, a felony. He was brought to police headquarters and held for arraignment.

After receiving information during the investigation, police searched for evidence was done in the Osborne Avenue area, and the guns that were allegedly used in the robbery, that were hidden in the area, were found by a Riverhead K-9 unit.

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected, police said.
