Cops: Riverside DWI Accident Sends 5 To Hospital

A Patchogue resident was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Southampton Town Police report that a Riverside car accident allegedly caused by a woman who was driving while intoxicated sent four people -- and the driver -- to the hospital.

According to police, on Saturday at approximately 4:23 p.m., Patchogue resident Lauren McNevin, 50, was arrested on Lake Avenue in Riverside after a motor vehicle accident.

Upon police investigation, it was learned that McNevin was intoxicated, police say; she was arrested and transported to Southampton Town Police headquarters for processing.

McNevin was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and moving from a lane unsafely, a violation.

Four individuals involved in the accident were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, police say. McNevin was transported to Southampton Hospital for treament of minor injuries incurred in the accident. McNevin was held for arraignment.
